I.        Who We Are, What We Have, And What We Can do, In Christ J.        Our Practical Application of Spiritual Realities

IV.      OUTSIDE ASSIGNMENT

A.       Read the book, New Creation Realities, by E.W. Kenyon. B.       Pick any two chapters and write a one-page summary on that chapter. Note on your report whether or not you have read the book.

I.        THE REASON FOR CREATION

A.       The reason for creation of the heavens is earth.

1.        Genesis 1:14-19

2.        All of the planets, the sun, moon, and stars were created for the earth, and put in order so that the earth can exist. That is why man can find no other reason for the existence of these things.

B.       The reason for the creation of the earth is man.

1.        Isaiah 45:18  ...God formed it (the earth) to be inhabited...

2.        All that man needs or would ever need was supplied by God, when He created the earth.

C.       The reason for the creation of man.

1.        The Father heart of God, as revealed by Jesus in the gospels, proves that God wants fellowship.

2.        Genesis 1:26 God made (or created) man a spirit being so that He would have someone in His class (God is a spirit. St. John 4:24) to fellowship with.

3.        God then gave a soul and body, so that man could have dominion over His creation.  Genesis 1:26 a.        Note: Spirit beings do not have contact with the physical realm,

thus the need for a physical body, in order to operate on

the earth.

D.       Man, spirit, soul, and body. 1.        Man is a tri-part.

a.        I Thessalonians 5:23

b.       He is a spirit. He has a soul. And, he lives in a body.

1.) Spirit

a.) Genesis V27

b.) The real you.   An eternal being created in God's

image.

c.)      This is the place where God has contact with mankind. Proverbs 20:27

2.) Soul

a.)      The soul is made up of the mind, emotions, and will of mankind, and is given to regulate the patterns, activities, and actions of the man.

3.) Body

Flesh, bone, and blood. Man's (earth suit) that contains the five senses and gives us contact with the physical realm.

THE FALL

I.        MAN IS A FREE WILL AGENT

A.       When God made man, He didn't make a robot. His soul gave him the ability

to make decisions based on his own reasoning ability or will. B.       Man was made to serve God, because He wanted to. God gave man every reason to want to.

II.       THE SIN OF ADAM

A.       God made the earth and all that is in it, then He made Adam in Their

likeness to have dominion over His creation.  Genesis 1:26-28 B.       Because God gave Adam dominion, he had the right to hand his dominion

over to the devil, even though it was not the right decision. Genesis 3:1-6 C.       Adam's sin was high treason, because he betrayed the authority given him by

God, and through disobedience transferred that authority to the devil. D.       Adam was the seed for mankind. Satan knew if he could corrupt the seed, he

would corrupt all mankind. Adam's sin was our sin! Adam's death was our

death!  Romans 5:12.                                ^.••>->

III.      THREE TYPES OF DEATH

A.       Physical death:  the spirit separated from the body.

B.       Spirit death: separation from God.

C.       Eternal death:  separation from God forever.

D.       When you think of death, think of separation. The body was not designed to separated from the spirit. This is why physical death is such a radical thing, and the medical profession fights it so hard. The spirit was never made to be separate from God. Only because of sin has this separation come about.

IV.      MAN'S CONDITION IN ADAM

A.       Because of the sin of Adam, mankind took on the nature of Adam after the

fall.

B.       When sin entered into the world it produced poverty, sickness, and death. These three are not the creation of the devil, because he is not a creator. Just as darkness is a result of the absence of light, so sin is the absence of righteousness; poverty is the absence of prosperity; sickness is the absence of health; and death is the absence of life. These are all conditions of mankind, as a result of the fall, that the devil uses to hold mankind in bondage. This is the nature of man. Romans 3:10-18, Ephesians 2:2-3.

C.       Because of the Law of Genesis (Genesis 1:24-25), every seed reproduces after its own kind. The fallen seed reproduces after its kind.

GOD PUTS REDEMPTION PLAN INTO MOTION

I.        GOD BEGINS REDEMPTION

A.       After the Fall of Man, God wasted no time in imparting His Word into the earth that would bring forth redemption. Genesis 3:15 is where God begins to speak His Word into the earth and begins a cord that runs throughout the Old Testament, foretelling the arrival of a Redeemer, and concluding in the manifestation of the Word made flesh, Jesus.

B.       Noah Genesis 6:8-22 God's first grace man. Noah had fellowship with God. He was just and perfect. His obedience was an act of faith, and was what gave him his right-standing with God. Because of Noah, man was not destroyed. The ark (a type of redemption) was his provision.

C.       Abraham, God's covenant man.

1.        God needed a man to interact with on this earth and found in Abraham a man that would hear His voice.  Genesis 12:1.

2.        A man that

a.        needed supernatural intervention in his life.b b.       could hear and obey the voice of God. c.        would dare to enter into a blood covenant with God. d.       would maintain the God-kind of faith until the promise was received.

D.       The importance of Abraham's covenant.

1.        Covenant = an exchange based on the mutual need of the two parties involved.

2.        Man needed redemption. God needed a way to get the Redeemer on the scene.

a)       In Abraham's covenant there was an exchange Abraham gave God everything he had. In return, God blessed Abraham with everything He had.

b)       This covenant was one of blood. The terms of the covenant was the Word of God. The sign of the covenant was the circumcision.

c)       The covenant was acted upon by both parties when Abraham offered up Isaac, his only son. This gave God the right to complete the covenant by sending His only son to redeem us. Genesis 22

E.       Israel, God's covenant people

1.        Israel would be the nation in which God would bring forth His promised seed.

2.        Israel became the only nation on earth that had access to God through a priesthood over a bleeding sacrifice.

3.       Israel was unable to fulfill the terms of the law (which revealed man's unrighteousness before God), because they were still spiritually dead men.

4.        Down through the history of Israel, God would speak (through prophets, priests, and kings) and promised the appearance of a Redeemer for all of mankind.

5.        When Israel kept the term of the covenant (or law), they were blessed, delivered, and restored. But when the law was violated, God was unable to help them.

6.        The main aspect of all that Israel went through in the Old Testament was for one purpose, to get the Redeemer (the seed of Abraham) to the earth to continue God's plan of redemption.

WHAT HAPPENED FROM THE CROSS TO THE THRONE

I.        THE TRIAL

A.       The tragedy was that Israel did not recognize their own Jehovah God in the form of the Seed of Abraham. He was delivered up by the priests, the only ones who had the right, under the old covenant, to make sacrifices unto God for the sins of the people.

B.       ...Jesus was the Lamb of God (spotless and without guilt) John 1:29. The Roman government (thought to be the most just government up until that time) could find no fault in Him. John 18:38

C.       We must always remember that this was the Plan of God. Jesus laid down His life, and He took it up again. He began to speak into being all He would accomplish through His death, burial, and resurrection.

H.       THE CROSS

A.       Jesus' sacrifice was one of substitution. He was our substitution on the Cross, taking our sin, iniquity, sickness, guilt, and poverty. He became sin, sickness, etc., so that He would have the right to defeat it.

1.        He was wounded for our transgressions.

2.        He was bruised for our iniquity.

3.        He was chastised for our peace.

4.        By His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-12

B.       The Cross was a manifestation of the power of God. I Corinthians 1:18

III.      Jesus' Death

A.       Jesus' death was our death. It was not a separation from God (mankind was already separated from God), but a separation of God from Himself, in order to reunite mankind back to God. II Corinthians 5:18-19

B.       Jesus' death was two-part: Isaiah 53:9

1.        Jesus died physically

2.        Jesus died spiritually

C.       Our identification in His death.

1.        Galatians 2:20, colossians 3:1-3, Romans 6:3-12

2.        Mankind's problem was that he needed a way to be separated from the sin nature of Adam. The only way man could do this was to die.

3.        Man could supply himself with a death, but could not supply himself with a resurrection.

4.        Through Jesus, man was provided a death in which there is no life (the work of Jesus on the Cross to destroy the power of the devil over man and removes sin) and a life in which there is not death, eternal life.

IV.      THE RESURRECTION

A.       It was our sin that killed Jesus, and His own righteousness that gave God the right to raise Him from the dead.

B.       On the Cross the old covenant was finished. In the resurrection, the new covenant was established. Hebrews 8:6

C.       The greatest demonstration of God's power toward humanity was given in the resurrection of Jesus. Ephesians 1:19-20

D.       We were identified with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. Through His death, He destroyed the power of Satan an of sin over mankind. In Jesus' resurrection God injected into humanity (through faith in Jesus) all the abilities and attributes of God Himself.

V.       ASCENSION AND TRIUMPHAL ENTRY

A.       Hebrews 9:12 through chapter 10 This is the climax and completion of God's plan for this dispensation.

B.       After all Jesus suffered, after His defeat of Satan, and the forces of hell (Colossians 2:15,1 John 3:8), He offered up God's divine sacrifice of His own blood, and obtained eternal redemption for us. When the blood of Jesus poured out, humanity was cleansed. Now, God could live in His people.

JESUS - GOD'S PLAN OF REDEMPTION PUT INTO MOTION

I.        Although the children of Israel had a covenant with God and could approach Him on that level, mankind itself was still separated from God and needed a go-between. Isaiah 59:16.

II.       Just as in Abraham's day, God provided a Lamb. His name is Jesus. A.       He is the Word made flesh. John 1:14 B.       We have understanding on this by the Word recorded at Luke 1:26-38.

1.        As Mary received the Word by the confession of her mouth, Jesus was conceived.

2.        This was called the "incarnation" which means the putting on of flesh.

III.      Reasons why Jesus could represent both man and God, and bring Heaven and humanity together:

A.       God had no physical body until Jesus was born. Spirit beings have no access to this earth, outside human flesh.

B.       Medical science tells us that it is the father that gives the child its blood. Therefore, all man's blood was tainted by the sin of Adam.

C.       Jesus fulfilled all that was spoken into the earth about Him.

D.       There would be only one who could be a sacrifice. He had to be spotless, with no sin. Jesus did not inherit the fallen nature of man through Adam, and did not sin against the Father. He was the spotless Lamb of God.

IV.      Jesus came to earth as a man. He did not show us how a god could live on the earth, but how a man could lie on the earth in correct relationship with his God. A.       Luke 2:49    Jesus knows who His Father is, and makes an astounding

statement. God wants family relations with man. Jesus was the first to reveal

God as Father.

B.       The proof that Jesus set aside His authority, divinity, and power (Philippians 2:7)

C.       When your word and spirit agree with God's Word and Spirit, there is a mighty manifestation of power.

V.       Jesus' earth walk reveals the very nature and glory of God. A.       Hebrews 1:1-3

B.       Jesus manifested the Word of God by doing the Will of God. He was a showcase of God's thoughts, words, and actions, giving new revelation of our wonderful heavenly Father.

I.        REDEMPTIVE TRUTHS

A.       Identification, substitution, and union.

1.        In order to fully understand redemption, and its effects in the life of the believer, we must allow the Holy Ghost to reveal these truths.

2.        Christ in His humanity was able to identify with all that was wrong with man, because He was born a man.

a.        St. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.

b.        Jesus came to identify with humanity so that Himself all that humanity would have the legal right to identify (through faith) with the deity of Jesus.

1.)      Romans 6:4 ...buried with Him by baptism into death...

2.)   Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ...

3.)       Ephesians 2:5 ...quickened us together with Christ...

B.       One of the greatest truths of the Bible is that Jesus was our substitute.

1.        Mankind needed a being that could beat the weight of sin, sickness, death, and judgement, pay the price, and impart forgiveness, health, life, and righteousness.

2.        No one born of man on earth was able, because of the Fall. But, God sent Someone from heaven who could get the job done.

3.        Jesus was our sin substitute.

a.        II Corinthians 5:21 For He hath made him to be sin jorus, who knew no sin.

b.        I Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree...by whose stripes you were healed.

c.        Isaiah 53:5

C.       Christ's union with humanity is the pipeline God has used to flow into us all His blessings.

1.        In our legal union with, and in, Christ, we see ourselves joined together with Him.

2.        The mystery of this divine union is that God could become man, yet still remain God; and man could be a partaker of the divine nature, yet still remain man. This is the reality of our union, a.        We were joined together with Him in His death. Galatians 2:20

b.        We were joined together with Him in His burial. Romans 6:5

c.        We were joined together with Him in His defeat of Satan. Colossians 2:15

d.        We were joined together with Him in His triumphal entry. Ephesians 2:6a, Colossians 3:1

e.        We were joined together with Him in His triumphal entry. Hebrews 9:12,13

f.        We were joined together with Him in His seating at the right hand of the Father. Ephesians 2:6a

D.       The three truths of identification, substitution, and union are divine threads that run through the writings of Paul to the Church, to give us truth on who we are in Christ, what we can do in Christ, and what we have in Christ. Who we are in Christ, what we have in Christ, and what we do in Christ, is the reality of identification in our complete union with Him in His substitutional sacrifice.

The reality of who we are in Christ. A.       II Corinthians 5:17

B.       One of the greatest truths one can embrace after the New Birth is that he (or she) has been made new, not changed, but new. Now, because of the newness of life, we can begin to change.

1.        Note: The Word reveals the legal side of redemption and shows us who we are, and what belongs to us. As we yield to that Word and obey it by faith, the Holy Ghost brings it into reality in our lives through the Word.

2.        Other translations read:

Therefore if any is in Christ; He is a new creation He is a new being He is a new person He is in a new world.

3.        We must realize that when we are born again we receive life, the life of God, and that life is new life. II Corinthians 5:17

What we have in Christ. Ephesians 1:1-13 shows us things that we have in Christ. A.       All spiritual blessings

B.        Hath chosen us (we have God's choice)

C.        Predestined us (only in Christ does man have predestination)

D.        We have acceptance in the beloved

E.        We have redemption through His blood.

F.        We have the mystery of His will.

G.        We have a seal, the Holy Ghost.

What we can do in Christ. A.       Philippians 4:12 B.        Philippians 4:13
